Altra Olympus 275 – A new Olympus in town! July 2025

We’ve got a new Olympus in town! It’s lighter, more durable, and just as stacked!

Set to be released in July 2025, this shoe is set to make waves, building on the legacy of its Olympus predecessors.

Fit

Expect the Altra Olympus 275 to maintain the brand’s iconic foot-shaped toe box. This hallmark feature enhances comfort by allowing toes to splay naturally, accommodating various foot shapes, and promoting a more natural foot positioning. By providing ample space for toe splay, the Olympus 275 should fit very similarly to the original Olympus.

Features

Anticipate a gator-like scree sleeve in the Altra Olympus 275’s upper for a secure fit. This feature is designed to prevent debris from entering the shoe, a crucial advantage for trail runners tackling technical and rugged terrains.

The lighter weight of the Altra Olympus 275, thanks to its new Matrix upper, promises comfort and secureness. This design choice is aimed at providing comfort for long-distance runs and hikes. Incorporating Kevlar into the upper promises enhanced durability and breathability, addressing a common concern of overheating in these stacked Altra shoes. Designed to offer durability without added weight, it should ensure a secure fit and improved performance on diverse terrains.

Expect the outsole of the Altra Olympus 275 to mirror the robust construction of the Vibram outsole seen on the Olympus 6. We know it works for the Olympus 6, so why would you change it.

Price Point

We expect the Olympus 275 to come at $185, which isn’t astronomical considering the upgrade in features when compared to the standard Olympus 6.

The shoe is ideal for those attempting 100km or 100-mile distances, offering features that benefit both. However, the origins of the original Olympus model remain uncertain. Who would opt for the Olympus 6 now?
